ActionTell, we recognized that early childhood education (ECE) is the bedrock of societal progress. It shapes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Unfortunately, Liberia’s ECE system faces significant challenges stemming from decades of civil unrest, health crises, and systemic shortcomings. The Challenges The effects of Liberia’s 14-year civil conflict and the 2014 Ebola outbreak have devastated the education system, leaving countless children without proper learning opportunities. Schools in rural areas lack essential infrastructure, while the scarcity of qualified teachers hampers educational quality. Other pressing issues include age disparities among students, bullying, high costs, limited parental involvement, and inadequate health and nutrition support.
